Edwin Kinkaide was a founding member of Wet Pants. In fact, it was his experience (along with Bill Huus) being denied a trophy as a non-member of another yacht club that led Hervey Smith and Sid Snyder to create the Wet Pants Sailing Association back in 1936.
Though he eventually moved out of New York, Mr. Kinkaide never forgot the club that had been an important part of his young adulthood. Near the end of his life he directed his son Perry to contact Wet Pants and establish a scholarship fund for other young sailors. Continue Reading »

The annual Wet Pants Invitational Regatta will be held July 17, 2010 at Port O’Call, Sayville, NY. The following classes are invited to participate: Flying Scot, JY15, Club 420′s, Sunfish, and Narrasketuck. Registration begins at 8:00 am.
