Relay for Life

It’s official! Wet Pants Sailing has a team for this year’s Relay for Life in honor of Bob Gorman and the many other friends we have who have battled or are battling cancer. The event will be held at Sayville Middle School on June 18th, beginning at 5pm.

Bob Gorman was a man of free and generous spirit who did things his own way, right to the end. We were lucky to have him for the time we did, and we will miss him terribly.

Thanks to members Mike Hagstedt, Jay Abrams and Joe Conron, the bench overlooking the entrance to Port O Call harbor has been refurbished and dedicated in Bob’s name. Take the opportunity enjoy the view from the bench while watching boats come and go… and keep Bob’s memory in your thoughts.

The annual Wet Pants Invitational Regatta will be held July 17, 2010 at Port O’Call, Sayville, NY. The following classes are invited to participate: Flying Scot, JY15, Club 420′s, Sunfish, and Narrasketuck. Registration begins at 8:00 am. Spring Pursuit Race Postponed: Revision

Due to the weather forcast, the race committee has decided to postpone the spring pursuit race scheduled for tomorrow June 6 until Saturday June 19.
There will be a barbeque to follow, all welcome.

Memorial Day Parade

Wet Pants is marching in the Sayville Memorial Day Parade…
come on down and join us!
Time: 8:30 am
Where: Meet at Garfield St (just north of Main Street by the diner)

The parade should last about 1 hour.
Wear a Wet Pants t-shirt!

All ages are encouraged to attend!

Weather permitting kids will be pulling an Opti.

WPSA History Program at Sayville Library

On Wednesday, April 21st, at 7 pm, join author Tom Travis for a look back at a period in the history of the Wet Pants Sailing Association, 1934-1940. As of Monday April, 12th, registration is open to all (not just Sayville residents). Call the library at 589-4440 to reserve your spot.
