Sailing Classes
Wet Pants Sailing Association offers sailing lessons for children (age 9 and up) and adults of all skill levels. Lessons for the Summer 2012 season will begin June 25, 2012 and are based out of our Sayville clubhouse using club-owned boats.
Children’s lessons run Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, starting at 8am for beginners and continuing throughout the day based on skill and experience. Lessons also include voluntary participation in “FridayFun” sailing activities.
Wet Pants Sailing Association is the only club on the Great South Bay offering adult lessons. These lessons take place Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm.
Prices begin at $425 (plus membership fee) for sixteen two-hour lessons. To sign up for lessons, you’ll need to complete four forms:
- Sailing Class Application
- Emergency Contact Info
- Remittance form
- Membership Application
Each of these can be found under the heading “Forms” in the column directly to the right. Forms may be sent by mail to the address on the form, or brought down to our in-person registration night, (date TBD, usually mid-may). Registration closes the day before classes start (or once classes are full), and early-bird discounts are available through May 15th (so don’t delay).
